Location, Ia Drang Valley
Description: This combined operation by the 1st Cav Division and a large ARVN force was intended to seek out and destroy the NVA 32d, 33d, and 66th regiments concentrated in western Pleiku and nearby Cambodia. It leads to the major engagements of the Ia Drang Valley campaign around the base of Chu Pong mountain.
