Description: On its third day in Laos, the first American-led recon team, RT Iowa, to be inserted into Laos made contact with the NVA and one Nung was killed. Two days later, the 219 VNAF Squadron extracted the team after calling in 37 sorties of TAC AIR on the NVA truck park. With the team out, another 51 sorties were put in on the NVA areas reconned by the team.
