Description: This search and destroy operation was conducted by the 1/7th and 2/7th Marines plus 1/4th and 2/4th ARVN Regts 10 miles south of Chu Lai. The results were 1 US KIA, 13 WIA, and 2 VC KIAs plus 6 POWs. The well known combat photographer Dickey Chappelle died when a patrol tripped a booby trap.
