Description: At 1155H the first elements from the 1/7th Cav and the attached units from the 2/7th Cav started leaving LZ X-Ray 4 ships at a time with 4 men on each. Besides the survivors and all the US equipment they shiped out 57 AK-47's, 54 SKS, 17 auto rifles, 4 heavy machine guns, 5 RPG launchers, 2 82mm mortar tubes, 2 9mm ChiCom pistols, and 6 medical kits. Their engineers had destroyed another hundred weapons, 300 or 400 grenades, 7,000 rounds of ammo, 3 cases of RPG rounds, and 150 entrenching tools. The final body count was 634 NVA KIAs with an additional 1,215 estimated and they had 6 POWs. They suffered 78 US KIAs, 121 WIAs, and 0 MIAs. The 1/7th was lifted out of X-Ray on Hueys to LZ Falcon and from there to Camp Holloway in CH-47s. At 1500H all of the 1/7th and attached elements had been lifted out.
