Operation NEW LIFE-65
Binh Tuy Province, III Corps, South Vietnam
Location, Vo Dat
Description: The 1/2d Inf and the 1/26th Inf from the 3d Brigade, 1st Infantry, the 1/503d Airborne and the 2/503d Airborne from the 173d Airborne Brigade, plus the 1st Royal Australian Regiment conducted this search and destroy operation against the 1st NVA Regiment with three VC battalions. The goal was to break the VC hold on the area by taking and securing the large populated valley northwest of Vo Dat to protect the people and the rice crop from the enemy. Casualties: not reported.
