Description: In the morning, the 2/503d Abn's recon platoon encountered a stubbornly defended VC trench system supported by numerous machine guns. B Company smashed into the enemy from a different direction and overran their positions. The VC lost 62 KIA before abandoning the field. The 173d lost 5 KIA on this day.
