Description: The 1st Inf Div killed 22 VC in this operation in the Ho Bo Woods. This region was the purported VC headquarters of the VC headquarters for MR4. The 173d Abn was still attached to the 1st Inf Div at this time and the 1/RAR was still part of the 173d Abn Bde. The 1/RAR made contact first and after heavy fighting unmasked an extensive set of underground tunnels, captured several 12.7mm AA guns, and more than 100,000 pages of doucment. The 173d claimed 128 VC killed, 91 captured, and 509 suspects were detained.
