Description: The 155th Aviation Company unit history states they were attached to the 145th Aviation Battalion at Tan Son Nhut for an operation in support of the 173d Airborne Brigade. They participated in their largest operation to date involving 108 UH-1Ds. The massive airlift was staged out of Bien Hoa and consisted of six lifts of seven troops per aircraft. Regulars from the newly formed Australian Royal Brigade constituted a large number of troop movements. During the operation four of the 155th aircraft were struck by ground fire, three severly enough to require precautionary landings. The responsiveness and preparedness of a ? trained wrencher crew was responsible for enabling three of the damaged aircraft to complete the mission and return with the company to Ban Me THuot on 9 January.
