Description: A USAF C-123 crashed not far from An Khe while transporting the mortar platoon from the 3rd Bde 1st Cav in support of operation MASHER. 46 soldiers died in the crash. That afternoon and for the next few days, many helicopter units were busy bring security forces in and removing the bodies.
