Description: The battalion history states that during the afternoon a C Battery aircraft monitored a radio call from a four man patrol trapped by an enemy unit, near bong Son. The helicopter flew directly to the area, located the enemy positions from which cam concentrated automatic weapons fire. The VC positions were immediately taken under fire and were neutralized sufficiently for the patrol to break contact. This allowed the patrol to withdraw to a clearing where the same helicopter extracted them.
