Description: As a result of operation DOUBLE EAGLE and pacification activities within the TAOR, the 9th Marines began stationing a reinforced rile squad of 22 men at Marble Mountain that could rapidly be helilifted to exploit a VC contact. III MAF gave this concept the codename Sparrow Hawk. Thus began a concept that would remain popular for a long time in Vietnam.
