Description: In support of DOUBLE EAGLE,MAG-36 reported at 1315H sixteen UH-34D's escorted by two UH-1E's retracted 290 troops of 2/4 from BS822303 to the BSA. Near the end of the lift three VC snipers were sighted in a trench at BS820310. The UH-1E's returned fire on the snipers killing two and wounding one. One UH-1E touched down and captured the wounded VC and the weapons, resulting in MAG-36's first CBA (Captured By Air). At 1310H two UH-34D's escorted by two armed UH-1B's retracted a four man recon team from a marginally secure zone at BS619369 and returned them to the BSA without incident. Two additional recon teams were retracted from BS524396 and BS849391 and returned to the BSA.
