Description: The following is an edited version of an article in the Vietnam Communique column of the 3 Feb 68 issue.
The Presidential Unit Citation, the nation's highest unit award, was presented to the 1/4th Cav by GEN William C. Westmoreland. The award was presented for actions during the period of June and July 1966. During this one month the squadron fought in three major battles and accounted for 712 enemy killed. Large stores of enemy supplies, weapons and equipment were also captured during the period.
