unit history information
for 2/20 ARA

For date 660615

2/20 ARA was a US Army unit
Primary service involved, US Army
Binh Dinh Province, II Corps, South Vietnam
Location, An Khe
Description: The battalion history states that beginning in mid-June, replacements began arriving to assume the duties of those who first came to Vietnam with the battalion. Each new arrival was warmy welcomed, particularly by the individual whose duties he would assume. The first prerequisite for release from the unt was to have a qualified replacement available to perform the duties of the returnee. The overall rotation policy also took into consideration previous "unaccompanied tours," previous assignments outside the U.S., and mandatory reporting dates to the individual's next assignment. The equitable and orderly arrangement of the turnover resulted in maximum combat efficiency during this transition period.
