Description: The III MAF had moved more Marine Reconnaissance units from Phu Bai to Dong Ha and Cam Lo as intelligence indicated that the 324B NVA Division had moved across the DMZ. The helicopter units that inserted (and extracted) the recon teams had it especially difficult during this period. Every team was encountering armed, uniformed groups of NVA. Many teams were only able to stay in a few hours and some for only a few minutes.
