Location, Route 14
Description: This reconnaissance in force operation along Route 14 to the Cambodian border was a continuation of Operation NATHAN HALE by five battlions, four from the 1st Cav plus the 2/327th ABN from the 101st. Many of the 1st Cav units used this as a training exercise for replacements since their year was nearly up. Contact with the enemy was light. Casualties: US 4 KIA, 23 WIA; NVA/VC 33 KIA and 8 POWs.
