Operation HENRY CLAY
Phu Yen Province, II Corps, South Vietnam
Location, Tuy Hoa
Description: The battalion history states that during July the battalion operations were limited to supporting HENRY CLAY and a highly intensified training program for newly assigned pilots. Battery A reinforced with elements of Battery C provided ARA support to the 1st Bde during the operation. Enemy contact throughout the operation was scattered and light. ARA support consisted primarily of firing LZ preparations for the maneuver units. Units took maximum advantage of the relative lull in enemy activity during the month to train new pilots. Weather during this period was generally poor and the units amde us of the adverse weather to conduct instrument training.
