Description: An article in the 11 Feb 1968 Pacific Stars & Stripes titled "Chopper Ride to Hell" details how an A/25 AVN BN pilot named Howie Deane was wounded during a ten UH-1D extraction mission of a 25th Inf Div element they had just inserted. The enemy fire was so intense that even when the helicopters landed, the infantry would not move from their positions for fear of being shot.
