Description: As part of ATTLEBORO, C/1/27th Inf, 25th Inf Div was cut off in high elephant grass after it had landed uneventfully but then stumbled into the 9th Recon Co, 9th VC Div. A/1/27th moving to aid C Co ran into a well-concealed bunker line and was engulfed in a furious hail of machine-gun and rocket fire. After several hours of hard fighting, the company continued its push forward. By the end of the day, both the 1/27th and 2/27th Inf bns were inserted into this fight.
