Description: This operation, initiated by three battalions, one each from the 1st, 4th, and 25th Inf Divs, was conducted in the area immediately surrounding Saigon. It emphasizes joint US & ARVN territorial security operations and is taken over by the 199th Light Inf Bde in Jan 1967. The allies claimed 1,043 known enemy casualties. The US operation terminates on 14 December 1967 when responsibility for security in the FAIRFAX operational area passes to the ARVN 5th Ranger Group.
