Location, War Zone D
Description: An operation into War Zone "D" conducted by the 2/503d Abn, 173d Abn Bde and the 2/39th, 3/39th, and 4/39th Inf Bns with the 1st Bde, 9th Inf Div. The results included destroying 26 base camps, 1,000 bunkers, capturing 24 tons of rice, some weapons and killing 79 VC from the 2/273d and 3/273d VC Bns.
