155 AHC was a US Army unit
Primary service involved, US Army
Lam Dong Province, II Corps, South Vietnam
Location, Bao Loc
Description: The 155th Aviation Company unit history states that two gunships were engaged by enemy fire while on a search and destroy mission near Bao Loc. One of the ships was forced down into the jungle where an enemy force estimated to be two companies in strength was located. Another company aircraft braved the intense enemy fire to rescue the downed crew. The other gunship limped back to the secure airfield where it landed safely. The two gunships were responsible for at least 85 enemy deaths before they were forced out of action.
