South Vietnam
Description: While supporting an infantry bn during operation COCHISE, LTC Nelson was flying a VMO-6 gunship and found more than 50 NVA in the open. After expending all his ordnance, he directed Marine jets and artillery on the target. After lifting the fires, the Marine infantry sweep the area and found 40 NVA KBA while suffering three US WIA on the sweep.
