Description: The 57th Assault Helicopter Company unit history states that in their initial 6 weeks of operations they logged 5,253 hours with 13,460 sorties mostly in support the the Special Forces, MACV, and the 4th Infantry Division. During Nov they supported the Battle of Dak To with slicks and the Cougar gunships provided close fire support for the infantry, escorted medevac ships and patroled QL 14 from Pleiku to Dak To. As 1967 came to a close, the first permanent building was completed. The mess hall was opened the day before Christmas. On Christmas day the annual turkey feast was served.
