Description: The following is an edited version from the "1967 Action Summarized" column that appeared in the 20 Jan 1968 issue. Elements of the 1st Cav Div killed 3,283 VC and 1,795 NVA soldiers since February 1967. They captured 1,242 small arms, 127 crew-served weapons, 167,632 rounds of small arms ammunition, 2,625 mines and hand grenades and 1,247 rounds of large caliber ammunition. In addition, the Skytroopers captured 42 tons of salt and 424 tons of rice, enough to feed one 500-man enemy battalion for two and one-third years.
