Description: The following is an edited version from the weekly Vietnam Communique column in the 13 Jan 1968 issue.
Forces participating in Operation Yellowstone uncovered 96 tons of enemy rice while conducting a search and destroy operation in War Zone C. During a two-day period, 231 tons of rice have been uncovered and evacuated to villagers. Since the start of Operation Yellowstone, division units have captured 631 tons, or almost a million and a half pounds of rice. This amount is estimated to feed a VC regiment of 2500 men for one year.
