Description: During late January allied intelligence detected heavy and sophisticated radio traffic emanating from a site inside Laos. Believing that the NVA HQ controlling the forces around Khe Sanh or the entire northern region had been located, Gen Westmoreland order the single largest Arc Light strike of the war with 36 B-52s dropping 1,000 tons on specific coordinates. Later in the day, nine more B-52s struck the same site. The radio signals stopped.
