Operation CARENTAN I
Quang Tri Province, I Corps, South Vietnam
Location, Song Bo River
Description: The 1st and 3d Brigades, 101st Abn Div committed four Infantry battalions and one Cavalry squadron, the Americal Div committed one battalion, and the 3rd Brigade, 82nd Abn Div committed three Infantry battalions to this combined operation with the 1st ARVN Div in the lowlands of Quang Tri and Thua Thien Provinces. This was a search and destroy, cordon and search, reconnaissance in force operation.
