Description: The following is an edited version of an article titled "Avn WO Saves 2 Drowning" dated 30 Mar 1968.
CWO Ronnie D. Griggs saved two children when they fell off a foot bridge into a river near here recently. Griggs happened to be passing by a foot bridge when he noticed two children had fallen off the bridge. He jumped into the river and swam to the drowning children and pulled one to safety, injuring his leg. He dove underwater to find the other child. After saving the child, he applied artificial respiration until the child resumed normal breathing. The children were taken to the hospital and the doctor said the first aid applied by the warrant officer saved the child's life. Editor's note: no unit is mentioned other than the material came from the 1st Avn Bde IO.
