Aircraft lost in A/7/17 CAV were 1 UH-1C
Description: A/7/17 Cav reported their Guns were called on to cover the extraction of a LRRP team who was in contact and had one WIA. After the extracton, the Guns made firing runs into suspected enemy locations. They received heavy AW fire which downed one Gunship. D Troop was inserted to protect the aircraft while the injured crew was evacuated. Due to the enemy situation, the aircraft was stripped and destroyed in place. Other sources indicate that aircraft was UH-1C #66-0727 which was lost at ZV221131.
