Description: The following is an edited version of an article titled "Gunships Kill 24 In Assault" dated 25 May 1968.
Gunships of the 188th AHC recently killed 24 enemy soldiers in an assault against a suspected enemy base camp NW of Tay Ninh. In support of elements of the 25th Inf Div, the gunships surprised the enemy in an open area and poured heavy concentrations of firepower upon a large number of enemy soldiers. The 188th's troop carriers then inserted troops in the area, who conducted several successful assaults against the remaining enemy.
