SAIGON (S&S) - Three combat support aircraft were reported shot down in South Vietnam, the U.S. command said Tuesday. An aerial observer O1 "Birddog" crashed and burned six miles northeast of Con Thien after being hit by enemy ground fire. The pilot was killed. One of the U.S. Army's new Huey Cobra gunship helicopters was brought down near Can Tho in the Mekong Delta, heavily damaged by enemy ground fire. Neither of the crewmen were injured. A resupply chopper was downed near Quan Loi, 60 miles north of Saigon with minor damage to the air craft and one crewman injured.
