Description: This was day two of the battle. Three 2d Mobile Strike Force companies tried to break the siege but were decimated in a fierce battle on the camp's airfield runway. One CIDG camp reached the front gate to reinforce the garrison. Shortly after this the B-23 Detachment XO, MAJ Roland Greenwood, was holding a coordination meeting outside the TOC when a B-40 rocket exploed in the group. Two were killed. It would be 24 hours before the medevac helicopters were unable to fly through the curtain of fire to get these WIAs.
