Description: The following is an edited version from the weekly Vietnam Communique column in the 28 Sep 1968 issue.
Skytroopers from the 1/9th Cav, 1st Cav Div killed three NVA soldiers in the jungles 13 miles west of Hue. The crews later led troopers from the 5/7th Cav to three more enemy nearby. The ground forces killed one of the NVA soldiers. Helicopter crews from the 1/9th Cav observed 30 enemy 13 miles NW of Hue. A platoon was air assaulted into the area. Three NVA soldiers were killed in the immediate action and one suspect detained.
