Description: The following is an edited version from the weekly Vietnam Communique column in the 11 Nov 1968 issue. Members of the 101st Abn Div killed 143 enemy soldiers in a week of moderate action. The paratroopers added 93 enemy to the list of kills in Operation Nevada Eagle. The 1/506th Inf, 3rd Bde discovered a small enemy base camp 10 miles south of Hue. A search of the area turned up 80 enemy bodies. In other action, paratroopers of the 2/501st Inf reacting to a probe of their night position, killed two NVA and captured their weapons 22 miles SE of Hue. Operating in the same area another company of the battalion killed one more NVA and captured his weapon. Other action in the 3rd Brigade's area of operations resulted in the discovery of seven enemy bodies 10 miles SE of Hue and the capture of one mortar and five individual weapons.
