Location, Dodge City area
Description: BLT 2/7 was reinforced with two companies, D/1/1st and L/3/26th Marines, in its fight at the "Horseshoe" with the 3/36th NVA Regiment. Because of the close proximity of the friendly units, coordinating supporting fires was difficult. The NVA engaged the Marines as they maneuvered on the flanks. The NVA fires, their bunker locations and the stream halted the Marine attack.
