Location, Dodge City area
Description: BLT 2/7 continued its fight at the "Horseshoe." Company E suffered 7 KIA and 23 WIA in ten minutes at a stream crossing. Company D/1/1st Marines advanced to within 300 meters of the enemy positions but withdrew with 2 KIA and 17 WIA, including many of the RTOs. The NVA drove off the day-light medevac helicopters. Only after dark could Company D begin to medevac its casualties but even then still under heavy fire.
