Description: The following is an edited version from the weekly Vietnam Communique column in the 20 Jan 1969 issue.
A reconnaissance patrol from the 3rd Bde, 82nd Abn engaged an estimated enemy squad, killing three VC nine miles north of Saigon on Dec 29. A light fire team called in to extract the patrol killed one more. Two days later soldiers of the 82nd Div found three enemy bodies that had apparently been killed by artillery fire a few days earlier in an area eight miles west of Saigon.
