Description: The following is an edited version from the weekly Vietnam Communique column in the 27 Jan 1969 issue.
In a week of light action the soldiers of the 199th LIB killed seven enemy. On Jan 7 the 5/12th Inf conducting a reconnaissance-in-force operation two miles south of Duc Hoa discovered two bodies of enemy soldiers killed Jan 6. Operating west of Saigon in the same area Jan 10 the unit killed one VC and captured his weapon. Three miles south of Duc Hoa, brigade elements sunk one sampan and destroyed several bunkers.
