Description: The following is an edited extract from the 1/52 Inf S2/3 Journal.
At 0830hrs D Co. at vicinity of BT233133 encountered 1 booby trap and requested urgent dustoff for 2 US personnel. Their names: Conners with head and chest wounds. Hilt, the dog handler, with head and chest wounds. Moon line #118 slightly wounded but will not be evacated. Dustoff complete by C&C at 0840hrs. Wounded were taken to the 312th Evac.
0947hrs C&C observed and engaged 2 military age males at BT196082 evading to woodline. Results: 2 VC KIA.
1620hrs C&C engaged 3 VC. Results 2 VC KIA.
1755hrs a utility helicopter working for this unit spotted 3 VC wearing short pants and blue black shirts near BT205105 evading to the north. They were engaged with machine guns. Results 3 VC KIA.
