Description: The 145th CAB ORLL states: During the reporting period (1 Feb - 30 Apr), the Bn contained 3 AHCs (the 68th, 118th, and 190th), the 334th AWC, and the USARV AH-1G Training Team at the outset of the period. The CAB flew 75,867 sorties, logging 28,755 hours, carried 147,082 troops and 312 tons, killed 491 enemy, damaged or destroyed 253 structures and 530 sampans, and reported a 37.8 per 100,000 accident rate. They suffered 1 KIA, 1 killed not as a result of hostile action, 14 WIA, 54 aircraft damaged and 6 destroyed. The mission of the units did not change; it was to augment the aviation capabilities of II FFV and the ARVN forces in III Corps.
In the Operations section, the ORLL states that the CAB continues to provide direct support missions and combat assault operations. The normal daily commitment for two AHCs, one general support helicopter company, and a variety of armed helicopter missions. For CAs missions, the normal commitment is nine UH-1D/Hs, one C&C, one maintenace, one smoke and four armed helicopters. For GS missions, the normal commitment is 13 UH-1D/Hs and two light fire teams.
In the training section, the ORLL states that the assigned training task for VNAF UH-1 transition training increased threefold. Previously, six VNAF pilots underwent transition training in the UH-1D and two in the UH-1C. During this period, 16 VNAF pilots were undergoing training.
