Description: The 1/26th Marines conducted the last of 62 SLF amphibious assaults of the war. This was also the first amphibious assault conducted with the Korean Marine Corps. The American SLF air assaulted inland and Vietnamese patrol craft cut off escape routes on the Barrier Island, 34 miles south of Da Nang. This was also the third time this year that the Barrier Island was attacked. The next time the Marines would use the Seventh Fleet offensively in Indochina would be the evacuations of the spring of 1975.
