Description: A/7/17th Cav reported their Scouts were on a VR when one of the ships took heavy AK-47 fire and crashed. The injured crewmen were quickly extracted. The emanant battle, however, never materialized because of an important distress call from a CIDG unit. The Lift, guided by the Scouts, were directed to the area where they began extracting the friendly force, saving 110 allied soliders from certain death or capture. Note: The grid coordinates YB854175 in the helicopter loss record for OH-6A #65-12942 point to the Dak Klong valley east and south of Dak To.
