Description: The following is an edited version of an article titled "Pilot Rejoins The Living." Saigon (S&S) - A U.S. Marine UH1 helicopter co-pilot thought killed when his chopper was shot down in the lower Laotian panhandle has been rescued, the U.S. Command announced Saturday. First Lt. Larry D. Parsons, whose chopper exploded in air and crashed March 21 was picked up April 9 in a search-and-rescue operation initiated after an aircraft spotted Parsons waving a map on the ground, a spokesman said. All four crewmen of the chopper had been reported killed, the command spokesman said. He said Parsons is presently hospitalized with 3rd degree burns on his arms and legs and a wound on the left arm suffered during the crash.
