Description: 01Mar71- Vietnam communiqué Feb. 08-14 Page 2 Military Region 4 About noon Feb. 9, a U.S. Army AH1 helicopter was hit by enemy ground fire, crashed and was destroyed in Kien Giang Province. There were no casualties in the crash. Early in the evening of Feb. 12, helicopter gunships on a reconnaissance mission spotted an undetermined-size enemy force six miles northwest of Tri Ton. The gunships employed onboard ordnance to kill 19 of the enemy. There were no friendly casualties. A U.S. Army OH6 helicopter was hit by enemy ground fire, crashed and was destroyed in Phong Dinh Province on the same day. There were no casualties in the crash, which occurred 11 miles south-southeast of Can Tho.
