Description: 01Mar71- Vietnam communiqué Feb. 08-14 Page 2 Laos Two U.S. Army AH1 helicopters were hit by enemy ground fire, crashed and were destroyed in the lower panhandle of Laos shortly after noon Feb. 8. Four U.S. crewmen were killed in the crashes, while two were wounded and two others missing. The same day, a U.S. Army UH1 helicopter was hit by enemy ground fire, crashed and was destroyed in approximately the same area. Two U.S. crewmen were killed in the crash. On the morning of Feb. 10, a U.S. Army AH1 helicopter and a U.S. Army OH6 helicopter were hit by enemy ground fire, crashed and were destroyed in the lower panhandle of Laos. Two crewmen were wounded in the crashes. Later in the same day in the lower panhandle of Laos, two U.S. Army AH1 helicopters were hit by enemy ground fire, crashed and were destroyed. One U.S. crewman was wounded in the crashes. Still another U.S. Army UH1 helicopter was hit by enemy ground fire, crashed and was destroyed in the panhandle area during the afternoon of Feb 14. Three U.S. crewmen were wounded in the crash.
