Late in the morning of March 8 in Quang Ngai Province of Military Region 1, helicopter gunships of the 23rd Infantry Division observed and engaged an unknown-size enemy force while on a visual reconnaissance mission 19 miles west-northwest of Quang Ngai City. Results were five of the enemy killed and no friendly casualties. (Note: B/123rd Avn. Bn. recorded 5 VC kills March 8 according to Americal ORLL reports). (Note: the following was printed with the 101st Abn Div information, but goes with the 23rd Inf. Div. information). In the same province on the afternoon of March 10, and element of the 198th Bde. engaged an unknown-size enemy force nine miles northwest of Quang Ngai City. The action resulted in three of the enemy killed and three individual weapons captured. Friendly casualties were two wounded. To the north in Quang Tin Province on the morning of March 13, artillery elements of the 23rd fired on an unknown-size force 24 miles east-southeast of Tam Ky. The action resulted in five on the enemy killed and no friendly casualties.
