for 1 AVN BDE
From date 710307 to 710313
1 AVN BDE was a US Army unit
Primary service involved, US Army
Dinh Tuong Province, IV Corps, South Vietnam
Location, My Tho
Description: 29Mar71- Vietnam communiqué Mar. 7-13
1st Avn Bde
In Military Region 4 early March 13, helicopter gunships of the 1st Aviation Brigade engaged an undetermined-size enemy force while on night operations 13 miles west of My Tho in Binh Tuong Province. Five enemy were killed and one sampan was destroyed. There were no friendly casualties.
Late Report
The 56 enemy kills credited to the 173rd Airborne Brigade and the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam communique of the March 8 edition of the Army Reporter were, through a clerical error in the paper's news source, incorrectly credited. Credit ought to have gone to elements of the 1st Aviation Brigade, attached to I Field Force, and the U.S. Air Force.
