At about noon on March 8 in Quang Tri Province of Military Region 1, an element of the 3rd Bde., 101st Airborne Division, on a search operation, engaged an unknown-size enemy force 11 miles west of Cam Lo. The action resulted in four enemy killed and three individual weapons captured. Friendly casualties were three wounded. In Military Region 1 on the morning of March 11, an element of the 1st Bde., while in a night defensive position 13 miles west of Dong Ha, received fewer than 20 rounds of 60mm mortar fire, resulting in light casualties and no materiel damage. (Section for 23rd Infantry moved to 23rd Infantry section).
