Attack on Phuoc Long information
For date 750101
Phuoc Long Province, III Corps, South Vietnam
Location, Phuoc Long
Description: The final sequence of events which led to the fall of the Republic of South Vietnam started in December, 1974 in Phuoc Long Province along the Cambodian border north of Saigon. The NVA launched an attack about New Year's Day 1975. They encountered little resistance. This thrust into MR-3 was as much as anything a test of American reaction of a major offensive.
